Everyone knows that award shows don’t really mean anything, but don’t let that stop you from enjoying the great (and not-so-great) fashion looks that they bring to the table. This years Golden Globes certainly delivered on both ends of the spectrum. Check out the winners below, in the only category that really mattered: Best Dressed!
Not a fan of her hair, but this silk Prada gown definitely fits Zooey Deschanel’s quirky personality.
Although Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie got the most attention at the show, George Clooney & Stacey Keibler stole the title of best dressed couple with their simple yet elegant outfits.
Keeping with her performance in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo as the dark character Lisbeth Salander, Rooney Mara donned a black Nina Ricci dress, and wore no jewelry save one, small ring. Fantastic job of using her momentum from The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo to build her own distinct & recognizable style!
Charlize Theron was the star of the night. The combination of the chiffon Dior gown and Cartier headband were only fitting for one of Hollywood’s best.
While Natalie Portman’s career has been relatively quiet since her performance in Black Swan in 2010, her bright pink Lanvin dress was anything but. The contrasting fold in the dress was just enough to set her apart, and not too overpowering like Angelina Jolie’s similar attempt.
Frieda Pinto’s peacock blue Prada bustier dress was very plain, but her yellow diamond Chopard choker balanced out the outfit beautifully.
Jessica Alba looked like a princess in her strapless Gucci dress, making hard to believe that she gave birth to her second child last year.
Paula Patton was also criticised for her dress, mostly due to the fact that canary yellow stands out so much. But bold is good, and she looked like she was born to wear this dress by Monique Lhuillier.
The always controversial host Ricky Gervais showed up with an unorthodox yet sharp red and black tuxedo… Which he lost shortly into the show, probably due to his drinking.
No, not Elton John. Sir Elton was outshone by his husband David Furnish, who wore the famous Christian Louboutin Rolleryby Spike shoes, and a fantastically patterned jacket.
Jessica Biel was keeping it classy with this flesh coloured dress.
Michael Fassbender was one of the few men who stood out, wearing a midnight blue one-button peak lapel suit from Emporio Armani.
