Checking In With Michael Henry & Justin Robinett

6 Apr

Our first feature on Michael Henry & Justin Robinett was a big hit with the Internets, so we decided to check back in with them. Since the posting of The Best Music You’ve Never Heard: Part 2, they have come together and collaborated three more times for some new, great covers. Check them out below…

The first video is a cover of “Grenade” by Bruno Mars. Both Michael and Justin sport black t-shirts for the video and the background of the video is comical as always with three of their friends doing background vocals in black suits throughout the song, making some funny gestures and just acting plain goofy. Nevertheless, Michael and Justin put a great touch on Grenade and really show off their vocals in this cover.

The second video is a cover of “What the Hell” by Avril Lavinge. The guys really show off their piano playing ability in this video constantly making difficult movements on purpose to hit notes on the opposite side of the piano. The background contains a dog playing with a ball and jumping around acting crazy throughout the video giving that comical relief that Michael and Justin always seem to bring.

The third video is a combination of “E.T.” by Katy Perry and “Waiting for the End” by Linkin Park. It is a fantastic mix of both of these songs and the guys both rock the red to look snazzy for the video. The threesome of background singers from Grenade are back yet again, and doing some interesting fist pumping to bring the video to a nice end.

We look forward to hearing more from this talented duo!

These guys are great. I know Justin from high school and I must say, their music totally moves me. With each cover I’m amazed even further and I get musical chill bumps. Great, great duo. I can’t wait to see where they get with this.
