Rumors are spreading across the internet that the iPad 2 could be released as early as April of 2011.
If the iPad is to follow in the footsteps of the iPhone 4, it looks as if it could be lighter and easier to carry around in its second generation.
One would also have to assume that the iPad 2 would include the “FaceTime” that is used on the iPhone 4, seeing as many consumers have hopped aboard the iPhone wagon once this was announced months ago to connect with family and friends across the world.
It would be interesting as well to see if the iPad will support a camera in its second generation. If the “FaceTime” is in fact included in the iPad 2, there would have to be a camera placed on the front of the screen. Who would’ve ever thought thirty years ago that a computer could have the capability of being touch screen and have the possibility of a camera on the front for video chatting as well?
The last piece of rumored information was that the iPad 2 could have a mini-USB port. A USB port could lead to a large increase in many of Apples accessories, knowing that the iPad 2 would be able to support virtually any USB cable.
April seems to be an odd release date, seeing as the iPhone 5 has been rumored to be released in July of 2011. I guess the Easter Bunny can drop some new iPads in his baskets instead of Santa dropping them into stockings.
