The trailer for the 2012 adaption of Leo Tolstoy’s classic, Anna Karenina, has finally arrived, and with it a lot of excitement from the literary world.
From the director of Atonement and Pride and Prejudice, Joe Wright, comes another movie featuring the lovely Keira Knightley in the title role. We know what you’re thinking, how could any feature-length capture the depth of the Russian auteur’s famous work? Well, the truth is, no film can and it’d be foolish to try. Many purists are wondering whether the focus shall be purely on the affair that the novel revolves around. From the looks of it, Ms. Knightley shall be taking center stage and that’s not something that we’re mad about. At the end of the day, if the novels means so much to you that you can’t take its plot possibly being mangled to appeal to the average-viewer, stay home and read it. We can see this movie competing with the new Gatsby in the costume design department, but are also looking forward to seeing the clothes shed.
